Common Interests Working Group

Did you know 15 November to 15 December is National AI Month?

Also, is your organisation looking for a better way to manage professional development courses and education programs?

AHPA has been approached by 2 organisations to talk to members about learning management systems and options to help allied health practitioners with clinical documentation.

As we have not had a working group meeting in a few months I propose a meeting in the last week of November (e.g 28 November). I would appreciate your feedback on a suitable time for that day.

    Look forward to your response.

    Hi Leo

    Thanks for the post.

I hadn't heard of National AI Month, but from memory, isn't that when Skynet descends? (sorry bad joke). On a more serious note, on the topic of AI, it would be great to explore if other group members have considered developing an internal and external policy/position on the use of generative AI.

In regards to the 28th of November for our next meeting, that works for us.

    Warm regards

    Steven

We are looking at writing an AI policy so I'd be really interested in this topic, and what others are doing in this space.

    Kind regards,

    Melanie

    Hi all,

Yes a very interesting topic. I actually had ChatGPT write a draft policy for us! Happy to share if anyone interested.

    Hi Cheryl

    I'd love to see it.

Generative AI is an exciting topic, and its impact on healthcare and health policy/advocacy feels like a new frontier.

I've dabbled in it to generate letters and review bodies of work for clarity and tone consistency, but not much more.

I believe some peaks have made leaps and bounds in this area and are already discussing 3rd party apps that support the development of patient notes through generative AI (which is really on another level).

    Looking forward to connecting soon.

    Warm regards

    Steven

    Hi Cheryl,

I have allocated some time on the 28th of November to discuss the draft you have shared. I think many members will find this useful.

    Thanks for contributing
